I have placed my artwork here for your viewing and enjoyment.  The paintings are all original works in acrylic on canvas and canvas board. The painting shown to the left (on this page) was awarded second place in a local art show in Vancouver, Washington.  Many pieces are shown and available for sale in hand made wood frames.  Most of my current work is landscapes painted from photo we have taken in the Northwest and Southeastern US.  I find the images provided by nature to be truly inspiring

About the W. R. Sanders (Walt Sanders)

I may have mentioned that I am a Mechanical Engineer by training. I have enjoyed working in this profession for over 40 years, but sometimes the work, schedules, deadlines and Management decisions lead to periods of stress and job dissatisfaction. Just getting away (hiking, camping, traveling etc.) helps, but there are times when it isn’t possible to leave the stress behind. So, one of my latest retreats is painting.

When I was younger (High School and College) I did some oil painting and sculpture. Then life happened, a Mechanical Engineering career, Marriage, raising a family… and a lot of years went by. I recently picked up painting again as a relaxing and enjoyable activity.
