Schedule: Typical hours are 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, plus 1–2 call shifts per week

Medical Edge is currently hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room on behalf of one of our valued healthcare clients.

As an Operating Room RN, you'll play a vital role in providing safe, high-quality perioperative care. You'll work alongside surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the healthcare team to support patients throughout their surgical experience.

 

This is a collaborative, fast-paced perioperative environment supporting a wide range of surgical services, primarily orthopedic and general surgery, along with some OB/GYN procedures.

The team operates multiple operating rooms, with opportunities to support other procedural areas such as Endoscopy. The department also utilizes advanced surgical technology, including robotic-assisted surgical systems, providing nurses with opportunities to develop their perioperative expertise while contributing to innovative patient care.

A Registered Nurse – Operating Room who excels in this role:

• Performs thorough pre-, intra-, and post-operative assessments to promote safe patient care.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgical team and supports an efficient operating room workflow.
• Provides age- and procedure-appropriate nursing care throughout the perioperative process.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in the medical record.
• Collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to achieve high-quality patient outcomes.

 

• License: Current North Carolina RN license or Compact RN license with North Carolina endorsement.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.
• Certification: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 90 days of hire.
• Education: Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience: One year of Operating Room RN experience preferred. Candidates new to the OR may be considered based on their overall nursing experience and qualifications.
